Special ActivitiesIn addition to normal Sunday and annual activities other projects have been done to ensure development and participation by all. These include : Stage ShowsShishukunj have written, produced and performed several “masterpieces” for the public, including the recent “Baal Kala Darshan VI” and “Udan Khatola” at several UK locations. On a smaller scale “Baal Din” (Childrens Day), is an entertainment show which is performed each year by Baalako in celebration of Nehru’s b’day. These shows, whether public or internal, encourage participation from everybody. They provide the opportunity from dancing and acting to backstage support, through workshops and team meetings, respectively. Children get to extend their friends circle and become familiar with older members who may later take on the roles of mentors. These shows give the children something to work towards, as for many of them it will be their first time on stage, performing in front of an audience. These rare opportunities that Shishukunj provides allows children to take on a challenge at an early age and encourages a can-do attitude. The satisfaction from achieving, further encourages and pushes the children to achieve more. For our workforce, they are delighted to see the enthusiasm and hard work from the children and this further motivates them to continue dedicating their time and efforts in creating these new opportunities and experiences for the children.
