Baal Leela

In February 2009, Shishukunj hosted Baal Leela 2 - a spectacular gala dinner and entertainment evening – for 600 guests at Brent Town Hall in north west London. The purpose of this event was to bring together members of the business community and philanthropists to try and raise much needed funds for our Centre of Excellence and international development projects.

In true Shishukunj family spirit this event was hosted with every component being executed by members of Shishukunj and its well wishers. Everything the guests experienced showed Shishukunj at its finest:

·         The decor inside and outside the hall
·         The exhibition which explained Shishukunj’s history and its mission for the future
·         The exceptional food that was cooked and served by parents and members
·         The fantastic entertainment that showcased 120 children on stage and that was directed by a 23 year old Shishukunj karyakar

Shishukunj proudly welcomed Deputy Mayor of London Richard Barnes as our Chief Guest and he commented in his speech and also to the media on how inspired he felt by the wonderful work of the institution and its children.

The event was a tremendous success and Shishukunj was delighted to raise almost £30,000 in pledges on the evening. Baal Leela 2 is one of many examples of how the collective force of Shishukunj baalako and its well wishers can achieve inspirational heights.
