EventsBethaks every fortnight
Start Date: Friday 12th February 2010 Namaste! As you may be aware we are re-starting our Bethaks fortnightly from this Friday (12/2/10). We hope that through our Bethaks we are able to learn, share and develop ourselves. We are hoping that we will be able to get a wide range of guest and in-house speakers to talk to us about a range of different topics. If you would like to give a talk or you know anyone who you think would be able to talk about a topic please feel free to get in touch (chirag.gorasia@gmail.com). Also, if there is a topic that you would like to know more about let us know and we can try and arrange a session.
This week our topic is 'Mindfulness'. Mindfulness is a way of paying
attention from moment to moment to whatever arises. It has been derived
from the Buddhist meditative traditions but is now finding its way into
many areas such as the mindfulness approach to personal effectiveness,
emotional intelligence and stress reduction. It has also increasingly
been subject to scientific research. The beauty of mindfulness is that
it can be practiced by anyone at anytime. We hope that this session
will give you a taster of this broad area and help you take away
techniques that you can apply to your day to day life. |
